A leading hospital in the Unites States on Thursday, 12 November, 2015 said it is preparing to offer women uterine transplants, a technology that has been proven in Sweden.
The Cleveland Clinic will be the first hospital in the US to offer transplanted uteruses. The transplants will be offered to 10 women.
The clinical trial is open to women who have problems getting pregnant because they have an issue with their uterus, have lost their uterus, were born without a uterus or have a uterus that no longer functions.
