Dangers Of Being Underweight

Being underweight can be as bad to one,s health as being overweight. People who are underweight simply are not getting in enough calories to fuel their bodies and may also be malnourished. You may be at risk of some of these health issues if you are underweight:

- Weak immune system: when you don't take in enough nutrients, your body may find it difficult to fight illnesses.
- Anaemia: this is a condition caused by iron deficiency, which makes you feel tired and dizzy.
- Weak bones: a deficiency in calcium and vitamin D can make your bones fragile and make you more likely to develop osteoporosis when you get older. Osteoporosis is a condition that makes one's bones delicate and easier to break.
- Fertility problems: low body weight in women can affect their menstrual cycle, causing an irregular or even lack of periods, and infertility.
