What Are Your Treatment Options For Constipation?

I am sure you know what constipation mean. However, let me provide a definition.

Constipation is defined medically as fewer than three stools per week and severe constipation as less than one stool per week.

To be constipated means your bowel movements are difficult or happen less often than normal. Almost everyone has it at some point in life.

Some of the symptoms you will experience when you have constipation are:
  • Lower abdominal discomfort
  • Infrequent bowel movements
  • Straining to have a bowel movement
  • Hard or small stools
  • Rectal bleeding and/or anal fissures caused by hard stools
  • A sense that everything did not come out

What treatment options do you go for when you are constipated or when you experience these symptoms?
