Some people rely on sleeping pills whenever they find it hard to sleep at night. Eating dark chocolates may just be a better way to put your mind and body to rest.
Researchers from the school of Biological Sciences, University of Edinburgh, revealed that levels of magnesium contained in foods like dark chocolates rise and fall as cells undergo the 24 hour circadian rhythm.
The circadian rhythm or internal clock is what's responsible for the different bodily functions such as sleeping, waking and temperature.
Supplementation of magnesium in patients with insomnia has been proven to improve sleep efficiency. So, eating dark chocolates may help your body relax and have a good night rest.
