Persistent Snoring In Children Can Cause Harm To Their Health

Persistent snoring in children, especially with sleep apnea can affect their quality of life. The child may experience daytime sleepiness, poor concentration, learning difficulties, delayed growth and bed-wetting.

Sleep apnea is a common disorder where breathing pauses or becomes very shallow during sleep. When this happens, you drift in and out of deep sleep into light sleep.

The most common reason for persistent
snoring in children is enlarged tonsils or adenoids and this might readily be cured or eased with surgery.

The team of researchers from Gothenburg University in Sweden advise parents with children who persistently snore to take them to the doctor for a medical evaluation.
